PIERRE, S.D. – After a high school baseball season that saw Pierre get to the championship of the State A State tournament, the American Legion season has been a reversal. Pierre is just 1 and 9 on the season and has been outscored by a nearly 3 to 1 ratio so far. Post 8 has struggled at the plate but even more on the mound in this early part of the season. Head Coach Matt Sisk says his pitchers have to be more consistent in throwing strikes and not walking batters.
Pierre heads to a tournament in Fargo, N.D. this weekend playing Fargo Post 400, Beatrice, Nebraska and Bismarck, N.D. in pool play. The schedule that Pierre is playing is very tough and Sisk would not have it any other way.
Sisk remains optimistic though that things will turn around for Pierre beginning this weekend.
