RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) – The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology says a two-court gymnasium being built at the Rapid City school will be named for former president Harvey Fraser.  Fraser died last November at the age of 97. He had served as the school’s president from 1966-1975.  The new gym is expected to be complete by early next year. It will be part of the new 24,750-square-foot Stephen D. Newlin Family Student Wellness & Recreation Center.  The school with the help of alumni donors also is creating academic and athletic scholarships to honor Fraser.
