The Mobridge City Council met for their regular meeting on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Mobridge City Hall.
Unfinished Business included the approval of a motion to reject pool bids as well as to redesign and rebid. The purpose is to bring down the price of the pool. It was stated that more time is needed in order for the contractors and architect to bring down the price from $3.32 million to $3.2 million.
New Business included the approval of moving the public hearing date for temporary malt beverage to June 16th. Also, the agreement with South Dakota Department of Transportation for an airport fuel truck was approved. In other business, the purchase of property was put on hold pending a title search. Chris Fried, the Mobridge Youth Organization President, was approved to the park board. Also, advertising for the Old City Hall lease for 3 months at $350 a month was approved. The quote to stripe main street was approved at the same price as last year. Bestway Traffic will be handling this and plans are to have the striping completed before the 4th of July. Additionally, the street resealing bid by Jensen Rock and Sand was approved. Pay request no. 4 to North Star Construction for the airport hangar project in the amount of $53,161.43 was approved. Pay request no 2A-C to Maguire Iron, Inc. for the water tower project in the amount of $621,101.45 was also approved.The hiring of Tyler Villbrandt as a summer employee at $12.74 per hour was approved with the effective date of May 29, 2014. Lastly, the firework permit for the 4th of July rodeo grounds was approved.
