Schafer Resigns at BHSU

Brad Schafer

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Black Hills State head men’s basketball coach Brad Schafer has resigned the position at the Spearfish school.  Schafer has accepted the head coach job at Western State-Colorado in Gunnison, Colorado.  Schafer spent four seasons as an assistant at BHSU before becoming the head coach for the past four years, where he had a 55-58 overall record. He replaces Mike Moskowtiz, who stepped down in April after the Mountaineers finished just 3-23 this past season.  Schafer led the Yellow Jackets program through its transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II and into the Rocky Mountain Conference.  Schafer begins his new position immediately.  A search for a new head coach at BHSU is underway.
