PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) It’s just one month away…the 2014 Oahe Days weekend. The annual celebration will be centered around Steamboat Park in Pierre next month. Oahe Days Committee President Brad Curtis says the schedule for the weekend is filling up; with bands and music already booked, plus there will be a hypnotist, a parade and other entertainment.
As for vendors, Curtis says there will be a great mix of food booths with many returning from previous Oahe Days appearances.
Curtis says Oahe Days has become an official “summer kick-off” for the Pierre/Fort Pierre area.
Oahe Days had been held in Pierre for a number of years, but fell by the wayside for a time only to return almost ten years ago. Curtis says the organizing committee would like to see Oahe Days grow to attract people from all over the state.
Curtis says Oahe Days is a multi-faceted, family oriented event. Oahe Days will be June 20-22. To check out the schedule of events, list of vendors or to volunteer, visit www.oahedays.com.
