Smithsonian Inst. Undrsctary for History, Art & Culture in Pierre

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Dr. Richard Kurin, the Smithsonian Institution’s Undersecretary for History, Art and Culture is making appearances in Pierre today to promote his new book, “The Smithsonian’s History of America in 101 Objects”.  He has been signing his book at the Cultural Heritage Center this afternoon and also spoke before the Pierre-Fort Pierre Rotary Club earlier.  This evening at 7:00 p.m., he will make a presentation at the Capitol Lake Visitors Center.  Dr. Kurin visited KGFX this morning with Jay Smith, director of the Museum of the South Dakota State Historical Society at the Cultural Heritage Center.  Listen to this morning’s interview below:
