PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Pierre woman was arrested yesterday after police were called to check on a man who was laying outside on the ground in the 300 block of Crow Street. Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster says officers and an ambulance were dispatched yesterday afternoon to the neighborhood where they were told a man was down on the ground and possibly not breathing. The person has been identified as a 39-year-old Pierre man. Blemaster says responders found that the man had injuries to his face and head areas-which were caused by being kicked. He was transported to Avera St. Mary’s Hospital by American Medical Response ambulance. Later, Blemaster says 41-year-old Inez Taken Alive was arrested in the 600 block of West Dakota Avenue on Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence and she was taken to the Hughes County Jail.
