OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Senior CLASS Award named South Dakota State forward Jordan Dykstra as a Senior CLASS Award Second Team All-American on Thursday, making him the first-ever Jackrabbit and Summit League men’s basketball player to earn the honor. Dykstra led the Jackrabbits in 2013-14 with 16.0 points per game and led The Summit League with 7.6 rebounds per game and with nine double-doubles. In the classroom, Dykstra maintains a 3.71 GPA as a biology/pre-dentistry major and made the Dean’s List in every semester at South Dakota State. The award, chosen by a nationwide vote of Division I men’s basketball coaches, national basketball media and fans, is given annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in Division I men’s basketball. To gain eligibility for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – classroom, community, character and competition.
