HURON, S.D. – Huron outscored Pierre 10-2 over the final 4 minutes of the second quarter and went on to record a 65-52 win over the Governors in the champinship game of the District 3AA boys basketball tournament Friday night in Huron. Pierre was behind by 8 at the half and trailed by double digits most of the second half as everytime Pierre looked as if they would grab the momentum, Huron had an answer. Huron had 4 players in double figures led by Justin Decker with 16 and JP Mooney adding 15 points. Brevin Kaiser led the Governors with 16 points. Huron outrebounded the Governors 28-20 as the Tigers improve to 21-1 and qualify for the State AA Boys Basketball tournament. The Governors fell for the third time to the Tigers this season and are 18-4. They will host Rapid City Central on Tuesday night in a Region 2AA Playoff game.
