Pierre Team Wins Class A State Amatuer Basketball Championship

PRESHO, S.D. – All Around Graphix-Pierre won the Class A championship, while the Watertown Kings won the Class B title.  Former White River and University of South Dakota standout Louie Krogman was named the Class A MVP as he scored a game-high 35 points in Pierre’s 101-98 win over Sioux Falls Black Tibbs in the Class A title game.  Dave Gall and Michael Tveidt scored 26 and 22 respectively for Pierre.


The Watertown Kings defeated Foothills Contracting 89-73 to win the Class B championship at the state amateur basketball tournament Sunday in Presho.  Mitchell native Justin Brown, who plays for Foothills Contracting of Brookings, scored 19 points in the title game and made the all-tournament team.  The Class B Most Valuable Player was Mitch Boeck, who plays for the Watertown Kings.
