UNDATED – The Pierre Governors are second and Stanley County sits 5th in the team standings of the State Class A and B Wrestling Tournaments after day 1. The Governors scored 76.50 Friday in the State A tournament in Rapid City. The two time defending state champions are 17 points behind leader Aberdeen Central. Rapid City Central has 71 points and sits in third place. The Governors have four wrestlers who are undeafeated after the first day. Austin Senger at 106, Jebben Keyes at 120, Tanner Monfore at 132, Dawson Monfore at 170 and Quinn Reimers at 195. Pierre has 11 of 12 wrestlers still wrestling in the tournament. In the Class B State Tournament in Aberdeen, Stanley County scored 51 points. Parkston has the first day lead with 88 points. Philip is next with 66 followed by Canton and Beresford. The Buffalos have 3 wrestlers still unbeaten in the tournament. They are Daniel Slama at 132, Michael Scott at 138 and Herman Fennell III at 195. The Buffalos still have 7 wrestlers still wrestling today. Along with the 3 unbeatens, they are Luke Henninger at 106, Casey Henninger at 170, Tyson O’Daniel at 220 and Cade Larson at 285.
