MOBRIDGE, S.D. — (DRG News) Friday is Rare Disease Awareness day. The day is designated to bring education on diseases that are not common yet affect so many people.
We sat down with Alana Bauer from Mobridge, S.D. to hear from her about her son Nehemiah who has Tuberous Sclerosis. This is a group of two genetic disorders that affect the skin, brain/nervous system, kidneys, and heart, and cause tumors to grow. The diseases are named after a tuber- or root-shaped growth in the brain.
Visit http://www.rarediseaseday.org/ for more information about the day.
A special video presentation with Alana Bauer will be shown on Channel 7 TV at 7 p.m. Friday, February 28th, as seen in Mobridge and Selby. The video was produced by Tito C Arguello, Jr. of Mobridge.
