PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Pierre funeral home is in charge of arrangements for a man who most recently served as Hughes County State’s Attorney. Authorities indicate that Max Gors has passed away. He had served about three months as Hughes County State’s Attorney, resigning March 31 of last year for health reasons. Gors’ past career accomplishments include about 15 years as a Circuit Court Judge, starting in 1991. He also was Presiding Judge for the Sixth Circuit; served as Acting Supreme Court Justice; was a member of the state Board of Pardons and Paroles and worked as a Senior Staff Attorney with the South Dakota Department of Corrections. The Isburg Funeral Home in Pierre is in charge of Gors’ funeral arrangements.
