PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) An accident Tuesday resulted in damage to one vehicle, but no injuries. Derald Gross, Detective Sergeant of the Pierre Police Department, says the accident occurred at the intersection of Pawnee Street and Sioux Avenue around noon Tuesday. Gross says a small Saturn-brand car pulled up on the right side of a semi-truck as the two both faced north on Pawnee. Both drivers were preparing to turn right on Sioux, but Gross says the driver of the semi didn’t see that the car was next to the truck. When traffic on Sioux Avenue cleared, Gross says both vehicles began to move and when the truck turned to go east on Sioux, the car was hit. Gross says no one was injured. The car sustained $4,000 damage and the truck was not damaged.
