PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre-Ft. Pierre Capitals varisty hockey team reestablished themselves in the top 3 of the South Dakota High School Hockey League league standings following a weekend sweep of league leader Brookings and 3rd place Watertown. Following their 3-1 win over Sioux Falls on Saturday night, Pierre-Ft. Pierre recorded a 6-2 win over Watertown yesterday as Pierre broke open a 2-2 tie with 4 unanswered 3rd period goals. Landon Badger had a pair of goals for the Capitals while Alec Norwick and Cash Anderson scored goals in the first and second periods. Badgers first goal at 3:47 of the third period proved to be the game winner. Will Gordon and Leland Brokaw also scored goals in the third period as The Capitals outshot Watertown 42-26 on the game. Tim Fuerst continued the Capitals stellar goal tending with 24 saves in the game.
