PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor basketball team won it’s third straight with a come from behind 60-57 win over Brandon Valley Friday night at Riggs High Gym. Brandon Valley built an early 10 point lead and did not relinqush the lead until the final 6 minutes of the 4th quarter. The Governors would build as much as an 8 point lead late in the 4th quarter as Brandon Valley’s Austin Trevino hit a 3 point shot at the buzzer for the final 3 point verdict. The Governors had 3 players in double figures led by Brevin Kaiser’s 16 points off the bench. Cooper Walton had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Garrett Pochop scored 10. Peter Choudek was the only Brandon Valley player in double figures with a game high 18 points. Pierre outscored Brandon Valley by 12 points from the free throw line 24-12 and Brandon Valley had 22 turnovers to the Governors 13. Pierre improves to 10-2 on the season while Brandon Valley drops to 7 and 6. The Governors are back in action tonight when they host Brookings at Riggs High Gym.
