PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The public is being notified by South Dakota’s Corrections Department of a registered sex offender who has absconded from parole supervision.  Corrections Secretary Denny Kaemingk says that 61-year-old Noah Hero failed to maintain contact with his parole agent in Rapid City and missed a recent appointment that was scheduled for Tuesday.  Kaemingk also says that Hero has failed to attend his most recent sex offender treatment session, has been evicted from his residence and failed to notify law enforcement about the change in his address.  Hero was convicted in 2001 of Second Degree Rape in Hughes County.  He was sentenced to 15 years in prison that year and was paroled in 2011.  Hero is described as Native American; 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds.  He has several tattoos, including two teardrops in the corner of his left eye.  Kaemingk said in a press release yesterday that as a result of Hero’s criminal history, along with his failure to continue treatment and other violations, it is important to issue a public notification…which is what they have done with other high-risk individuals.  Anyone who sees Hero or knows of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement.
