FORT PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Fort Pierre juvenile suffered minor injuries in an accident along Highway 83 near the Fort Pierre side of Missouri River Bridge during the noon hour today. The accident was reported at 12:35 p.m. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says in an incident description of the accident that the male juvenile was traveling northbound in the left lane driving over the speed limit when he failed to identify icy road conditions and lost control of the car. The driver locked the brakes, which caused the vehicle to slide into the right lane. The car went over the curb, struck a light pole and rolled-over about one time, coming to rest on the roof. The Highway Patrol says the driver was transported to Avera St. Mary’s in Pierre and was treated for a concussion and other minor injuries. The juvenile was cited for over driving the road conditions and for not wearing his seatbelt.
