PIERRE, S.D. – Saturday night’s high school boys basketball game between Pierre and Watertown in Pierre will also have the induction of 3 men into the Pierre Riggs High School Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime ceremonies. The 3 men being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year are Larry Howard, Mike Stroup and Rod Fisher. Howard is a former two time all state football player for the Governors who graduated in 1964. Stroup was a member of the 1974 Pierre Governor State Champion Wrestling team who is also a former Athletic Director and Administrator at Riggs High School. And Fisher is the Sports Director of the Dakota Radio Group who has covered Pierre Governor and Lady Governor sports since coming to Pierre in 1979. Howard and Stroup will be inducted in the “Athlete” category while Fisher will be inducted in the “Contributer” category.
