Winter Weather Advisory in Today’s Forecast Through This Evening

Snowflake

ABERDEEN, S.D. – (DRG News) The National Weather Service says a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7:00 p.m. tonight, as the day will bring snow, winds and a change in temperatures.  Dan Mohr with the Aberdeen Weather Service office says snow should begin moving into the Pierre/Fort Pierre area around lunchtime.

After a mild day Wednesday, Mohr says the temperature will fall today, instead of rise throughout the day.

Mohr says winds will also be a factor in today’s weather-making it feel colder.

For travelers, the National Weather Service says a Winter Weather Advisory  means that visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and blowing snow.  Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling, especially in open areas.  For road information, call 5-1-1 or visit www.safetravelusa.com.
