FT. PIERRE, S.D. – Following a 8-0 victory over Huron on Friday, the Pierre-Ft. Pierre Capitals varsity hockey team made it two shutouts on the weekend as they downed the Sioux Falls 1 Flyers 6-0 Saturday night at the EXPO Center in Ft. Pierre. The Capitals scored two goals in each period and outshot the Flyers 36-10 in the game as Pierre-Ft. Pierre goaltender Alex Meagher got the start and recorded his first shutout of the season. The Capitals other goaltender, Tim Fuerst shutout Huron on Friday night. Bo Atkins scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Capitals offense. Landon Badger also netted a pair of goals while Riley Bren and Jacob Fuerst also scored for the Capitals. Brandon Swenson had 3 assists in the game. In the JV game, Pierre-Ft. Pierre skated to an 8-2 victory in thier league opener of the season.
