HOVEN, S.D. – (DRG News) Sunday brings the tenth annual Christmas on the Prairie to Hoven’s Cathedral on the Prairie-St. Anthony’s Church.  The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra of Sioux Falls, led by Henry Charles Smith, will once again be a part of this year’s production.  Mary Keller of Hoven who is the co-coordinator for the All Faiths Festival Choir, one of two of the choirs taking part in the concert, says the festival choir will be directed by Michael Coyne and includes vocalists from Hoven, Pierre, Onida, Aberdeen and Faulkton.   She says many other local Hoven residents contribute to make each year’s concert a reality.

The Northern State University Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. Timothy Woods will also be part of Sunday’s concert, as will other featured performers, according to Keller.

Keller says funds that are raised with Sunday’s concert will go for the maintenance of St. Anthony’s Church.

The theme for this year’s concert is “Oh Wisdom from on High”.   Each year, music lovers from a large area, come to Hoven to fill St. Anthony’s to its 1,000 person capacity.  After the concert, those who purchased tickets will attend a dinner reception at the American Legion Hall in Hoven.
