SDSU Women Break 2 game losing Skid




BROOKINGS, S.D. – Three SDSU  Jackrabbits scored in double figures as the South Dakota State women’s basketball team (5-4) defeated NJIT (2-7), 71-46, Monday night at Frost Arena.  Juniors Megan Waytashek and Mariah Clarin each scored a game-high 12 points while freshman Kerri Young tallied 10 points. Waytashek added a season- and game-high eight rebounds for the Jackrabbits.  South Dakota State took control of the game midway through the first half when it used a 13-3 run to take a 19-12 lead with 7:54 remaining in the half. The Jacks held the Highlanders to just four points the final 10:10 of the half. Junior Gabby Boever scored seven of her nine points in the first half to lead the Jackrabbits.  Pierre native Steph Paluch added 3 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists is 18 minutes of action.  NJIT was led by Alana Dudley and Shakia Robinson with eight points each.
