PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) South Dakota’s Attorney General says he is leaning toward announcing a run for another term in the AG’s office next year. Marty Jackley was appointed to the position in 2009 to fill a vacancy left by previous Attorney General Larry Long. He was elected to the position for a full term in 2010. Jackley says he has enjoyed many different aspects of the job so far, but has yet to officially announce whether he intends to run for office again.
Jackley says he believes voters will start looking more seriously at those who will be on the ballot for various offices after the first of the year and that would be a good time to make an official announcement.
Jackley is a previous U.S. Attorney for South Dakota-having been appointed and confirmed for the position in 2006.
