RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush’s 10 straight wins, tying the Central Hockey League’s record to open a season, helped the team garner the league’s coaches vote as the top team on the CHL Sher-Wood Coaches Poll. The poll is released twice each month throughout the regular season. Each firstplace vote receives 10 points, second-place votes earn 9 points, etc. Both Rapid City and Missouri earned first-place votes on the current poll with the Rush gaining seven first-place ballots and the Mavericks three. Each team jumped up two spots from the previous poll. The previous No. 1 Denver Cutthroats (7-3-3) slipped to No. 4 after going 2-3-3 since the previous poll was released. The Tulsa Oilers (7-6-2) made the biggest jump, moving to fifth from the No. 10 spot. Wichita, 2-8-4, tumbled from fourth to ninth.
