Warm Weather Helps South Dakota Harvest



SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Warm weather has helped South Dakota farmers with the harvest over the past week.

The National Agricultural Statistics Service says about 88 percent of the corn and sorghum is out of the field.

The sunflower harvest is an estimated 62 percent complete, well behind last year’s 100 percent and 83 percent average.

The fourth cutting of alfalfa hay is 80 percent complete.
