PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the State Capitol, as preparations are underway for this year’s Christmas at the Capitol display. On Friday, November 15, state workers brought the two-story South Dakota tree into the Capitol Rotunda and stood it upright. It will be the centerpiece of this year’s display. More than 90 trees will be decorated throughout the Capitol November 23-24 by members of schools, churches, communities and civic groups from across the state. The display will officially begin with a grand lighting ceremony November 26 and continue through Saturday, December 28. This year’s theme is “Christmas in the Great Outdoors”.
