PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The Agricultural Land Assessment Implementation and Oversight Advisory Task Force will meet next week at the State Capitol in Pierre. The meeting will be Tuesday in Room 413 of the Capitol-starting at 10:30 a.m. The task force will hear presentations from the South Dakota Department of Revenue regarding agricultural land assessments. Members will talk about possible legislation that may be proposed during the 2014 Legislative Session. Later in the day, the public is invited to provide testimony on ag land assessment and proposed legislation. The task force will listen to the testimony before taking final action on possible draft legislation. The chairman of the task force is Senator Larry Rhoden of Union Center. The Vice-Chair is Representative Justin Cronin of Gettysburg. The task force also includes central South Dakota lawmakers Senator Billie Sutton of Burke and Representative Julie Bartling of Gregory. Public members include Curt Everson of Pierre and Lyle Perman of Lowry.
