ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor volleyball team got off to a slow start and could not recover as they dropped a 3 game match to Aberdeen Central Saturday night in Aberdeen. The Golden Eagles won the match by scores of 25-9, 25-17, 25-19 as Aberdeen Central won their 13th game of the season against 3 setbacks. Pierre lost for the second straght game and is 7 and 11 on the season. Kaitlyn Severyn led the Lady Govs with 8 kills while Carly Jo Schroer added 6. Whitney King had 20 assists and Severyn led the Lady Govs with 18 digs followed by Kallie Stout’s 12. Schroer and Kelsey Schmitz each had 2 blocks apeice. Brianna Kusler led Aberdeen Central with 15 kills while Maddie Goetz had 31 assists and Samanthan Scepaniak had 18 digs. Pierre will travel to Mitchell for an important match Friday night that will decide if Pierre is the third seed or 4th seed in the upcoming district tournament. The Lady Govs will then wrap up their regular season hosting Harrisburg on Saturday night.
