PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) We hope you can tune in tomorrow as two stations that are part of the Dakota Radio Group begin broadcasting a new program…Central Dakota Outdoors! The radio show will be carried on 1060-AM KGFX and 1300-KOLY each Saturday morning and features as host-KGFX’s morning man Scott Lane. Lane, who is a North Dakota native, and has been involved in outdoors programming at other radio stations in the past, says he thought a regular local show would be a good fit for central South Dakota.
Central Dakota Outdoors will feature segments like “Cookin’ Corner, Murphy’s Law-featuring local Conservation Officer John Murphy, SD Game, Fish and Parks news, a fishing/hunting report, “memory recall” and K-9 corner. Lane says the sky’s the limit when it comes to topics that outdoors enthusiasts like to talk about…and that’s reflected on his show.
Another segment will be called “Tony Said” and will feature snippets of radio broadcasts from former Pierre resident Tony Dean, who was the host of outdoors programming on a number of radio and TV stations for many years.
Dean died in 2008 at the age of 67.
Central Dakota Outdoors will debut on KGFX tomorrow morning and will be heard each Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. It will also be broadcast on KOLY Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Lane says listeners who want to offer comments or programming ideas can contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
