UNDATED – (DRG News) The employees of the City of Fort Pierre received an award and plaque recently which recognizes their attention to observing and practicing safety measures on the job. This was the tenth time that the award was given to Fort Pierre employees and it was presented recently by the South Dakota Municipal League’s Workers Compensation Fund.
In addition, Fort Pierre Mayor Sam Tidball received recognition at the South Dakota Municipal League’s annual convention last week for 21 years of municipal service through his induction into the League’s Hall of Fame. Tidball says in a press release that the years go by quickly while being involved in a community that recognizes and supports development and progress-as has been seen in Fort Pierre. Tidball says forward vision of the city council and the dedication of the city staff together have both made the progress for the city possible.
Employees of the City of Pierre were also given a Gold Level and Platinum Level Loss Control/Safety Achievement Award at last week’s Municipal League Conference. The award honors employees for their work to protect the assets of the City of Pierre by making the workplace safer for employees, reducing liability exposures and saving the taxpayers’ dollars through loss control. This was the 16th year the city received a Gold Level Award and the eighth time Pierre has been given a Platinum Level Award.
