Mobridge, S.D.- (KOLY) Recently the Mobridge Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO) announced that they’re forming a four county leadership development program. Leadership Partners of North Central South Dakota is an education program for emerging leaders in Walworth, Corson, Dewey and Campbell counties. This great program is being funded by a grant that MEDCO recently received. MEDCO Executive Director Michelle Harrison explained “The main goal of the program is to further develop potential leaders and acquaint them with the community issues and resources available to address those issues”. By joining this program participants will attend monthly half day sessions that will focus on topics such as economic development, education, tourism and government. These sessions will run from October through May 2014. Each session will start at 12:00 P.M. and ends at 4:30 P.M. The sessions will occur on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The participants will be able to learn and practice leadership skills for use in their professional and community service roles in a variety of locations. Each session will be held in a different community within the four county area. The first event, a Leadership Kick Off, is planned for October 8th at Sitting Bull College in Mobridge. Everyone is welcome to attend and find out more about getting involved in the program. The first session will be November 12th.
