YANKTON, S.D. – The Pierre Governor golf team shot a 354 team score to finish 14th in the 19 team Yankton Invitational boys golf tournament played Friday at the Hillcrest Country Club in Yankton. Yankton fired a 299 to win the tournament two strokes better than runner up Sioux Falls Lincoln. Max Donohue of Sioux Falls O’Gorman won the individual medalist honors by firing a 69 and posting a two shot win over Ben Prisbe of Sioux Falls Lincoln and Jace Guthmiller of Yankton who carded 71′s. The best Governor finish on the day was Cash Anderson, who fired a 84 good for a 41st place finish. Matt Booth came in with a 86. Andrew Van Gerpen fired a 90. Austin Hoss had a 94 and Colman Varty shot an even 100 while Ben Deis had a 103. There were a total of 113 golfers in the tournament. The Governors are back on the course today as they are in Brookings competing in the Brookings Invitational.
