STURGIS, S.D. – The Pierre Governor golf team shot a season low 326 and had a season high second place finish Friday at the Black Hills Invitational boys golf tournament at the Boulder Canyon Country Club in Sturgis. Rapid City Stevens won the tournament with a 297 team score. Lead Deadwood had 332 finishsing 3rd in the 8 team tournament. Individually, Matt Booth and Cash Anderson both placed in the top 10. Booth was 9th with a 18 hole score of 78. Anderson had a season low 79 for a 10th place finish. TJ Nolan of Rapid City Stevens won the individual medalist honors with a 71, two strokes better than runner up Tate McVay of Sturgis. Andrew Van Gerpen had Pierre’s third best score of the day with an 83. Ben Dies had an 86 and Austin Hoss fired an 89. The other Governor score was Carmen Varty who fired a 96 in his first varsity tournament.
