SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The South Dakota State women’s soccer team closed out the UTSA Tournament with a scoreless tie against Sam Houston State. As a team the Jackrabbits tallied 27 shots, 12 of those were on goal. The last time SDSU recorded 27 shots in a game was back in 2010. They posted 41 total shots against Centenary on Halloween of 2010. In their game against Lamar on Friday they collected 17 shots. Due to the heat both teams rotated the majority of their players in and out. Sam Houston State brought in 11 players off the bench, while South Dakota State subbed in six players. The Jackrabbits leave San Anotino with a win and a tie. They scored three goals and allowed zero. As a team they outshot Lamar and Sam Houston State by a combined total of 44-8. The Jacks are home next week as they host Nevada and Northern Illinois in the Jackrabbit Invitational. South Dakota will be the 4th team in the tournament but will not play SDSU.
