FORT PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The date that was set this fall for a “Candidate Meet and Greet” picnic organized by the Stanley/Hughes County Republican Committees has been changed. The event is designed to give voters a chance to begin speaking with candidates for open spots in the 2014 elections. Tad Perry, Stanley County Republican Chairman, says the event was originally set for October 10, but that will be the day that Beadle County will have its Lincoln Day Dinner, so the date for the local event has been moved to October 22, instead. Perry says the “Pre-2014 Candidate Meet and Greet” picnic will be at the AmericInn Lodge and Suites Conference Center in Fort Pierre. The picnic menu includes hot dogs, chips, drinks and cookies. Candidates for office, as well as current office holders are both invited to attend so they can visit with constituents about issues of concern and answer questions. Those with questions can contact Perry at 222-7437 or email email@example.com.
