FT. PIERRE, S.D. – Football teams have had to battle the heat the last couple of days in this, the first full week of fall camp. In Ft. Pierre, Stanley County head coach Jeff Hegge has over 40 kids freshman through senior out for football, a number that is up from recent years. As far as the heat and practice, Coach Hegge says they try to be smart and make sure there are plenty of water breaks. The first year head coach says that he is introducing his system to the team in increments and will have most of it in by the time the Buffalos are ready to open their season at Lyman a week from tomorrow night. And while no one has stood out in practice, Coach Hegge says every practice is getting sharper and better.
