MADISON, S.D. (AP) – Low clouds derailed plans by South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard to jump out of an airplane.
Daugaard planned to skydive Thursday night to fulfill a pledge to help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, but the pilot decided conditions weren’t safe enough.
It would have been the first jump for the 60-year-old governor. He says he’ll reschedule it.
Daugaard pledged to jump with Madison Dairy Queen owner DeLon Mork if the restaurant sold more than 32,000 Blizzard treats during a recent nationwide fundraiser. The restaurant sold more than 38,000.
