Canova and Parkston Mudcats Advance at State B Amatuer Tournament

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Canova Gang and the Parkston Mudcats posted second round victories Wednesday night at the State Class B Amatuer Baseball tournament in Sioux Falls.  Parkston downed Tabor 5-0 behind Luke Tiesler’s complete game 4 hitter.  Tiesler walked 4 and struck out 4 while Jeff Harris and Spencer Freudenthal each had 2 of Parkston’s 10 hits on the game.  Parkston will play the Canova Gang in Friday’s final quarterfinal game of the tournament.  Canova downed Crofton, Neb. 4-2 as Jaraed Donahue and Lincoln Gessman combined on 4 hitter.  Donahue went the first 8 innings and picked up the win while Gessman got the save.  Trevor Oswald had 3 hits and Garrett Gassman had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.  The quarterfinal round of the State B begins tonight in Sioux Falls with Akron, Iowa taking on Winner-Colome and Dell Rapids PBR faces Dimock-Emery.
