FORT YATES, N.D. (AP) – Standing Rock Sioux Chairman Charles Murphy says he will not seek re-election.

Murphy’s current stint leading the Dakotas tribe began in 2009. He also served as chairman from 1983-93 and from 1997-2005.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that the 64-year-old Murphy says he’s not sure what he’ll do when he retires from public life, though he hopes to do some traveling.
