GETTYSBURG, S.D. – (DRG News) The City of Gettysburg received a gift of $5,000 from Avera Health and Avera Gettysburg Hospital to be used to fund a slide for the children’s portion of the Gettysburg City Pool.  The donation was recently presented by Mark Schmidt, Executive Director for Avera Gettysburg Hospital-to Bill Wuttke, Mayor of Gettysburg. Schmidt says in a press release that Avera is committed to furthering the mission of making a positive impact in the lives and health of those in area communities.  Wuttke says Avera’s generous contribution is greatly appreciated.  Installation will require removing a fence and will make it so the children’s portion of the pool is unusable for a time, so installation will take place in the off season, allowing children to continue using the pool this summer.
