PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Rattlers amatuer baseball team played two games on Saturday against the Rapid City Drillers and won both.  The Rattlers downed the Rapid City Drillers 12-2 and 5-1.  The scheduled games with the top rated Sioux Falls Brewers were not played as Sioux Falls did not come Pierre to play them over the weekend.  The Rattlers 12-2 win, Ryan Yackley pitched the full 5 innings in the game called on the 10 run mercy rule in the 5th.  Yackley allowed 5 hits while striking out 7 and walking 1.  Adam Spoeher hit a 2 run home run while Allen Goodman and Tyson Lindekugel each had two hits with Lindekugel driving in 3 runs and Goodman 2.  The Rattlers had 8 hits in the game.  In the nightcap, Pierre won 5-1 as Decker went the full 7 innings allowing 6 hits, striking out 6 and issuing no walks.  Goodman led the offense at the plate with 2 hits and 2 RBI’s as Pierre had 8 hits in the game.  With the wins, the Rattlers improve their record to 17-3 as they travel to Aberdeen next Sunday for a scheduled afteroon doubleheader to wrap up the regular season.  The Rattlers scheduled game tonight against Wessington Springs was cancelled as Wessington Springs has league games they still need to make up.  The Region tournament for the Rattlers will be in Rapid City this year on August 3rd and 4th.
