AURORA, Co. – The South Dakota Youth Soccer Community has it’s first national champion. The South Dakota United Barcelona U17 Boys squad defeated WFC New Jersey 2-0 on Sunday to win the U.S. Club Soccer National Cup X11 tournament in Aurora, Colorado. The South Dakota team went undefeated in pool play winning 3 games before winning their 4th and final game of the season, the national championshp game in the division, Sunday. The team was coached by Chris Derry of Pierre and had two players from Pierre play integral roles in the teams success. Garrett Pochop and Ethan Case each figured in the teams success at the tournament as Pochop had a goal and an assist on Friday and Case had an assist in the tournaments title game clinching goal on Sunday.
