Oahe Speedway Host Junior Jam Races This Past Weekend

PIERRE, S.D. – The 2013 Countdown to the Junior Jam highlighted the past weekend races at Oahe Speedway north of Pierre.  On Saturday in regular races run at the speedway, Cal Belden of Aberdeen won the Super Pro Series race while the Pro Series winner was Chris Compson of Sioux Falls.  Rodney Hopf of Sioux Falls defeated Chris Boom of Pierre in the finals of the Bike Race while Mike O’Conner of Hot Springs defeated Karen Englund of Pierre in the finals of the Sportsman Class.  Gettysburg’s Duane Soper took the Street Trophy title and Cal Belden won the King of the Track Race that was postponed from July 7th.  Dale Garber of Pierre won the Box Gamblers race and Jarrod Feucht took the No Box Gamblers finals.  In the Countdown to the Junior Jam Trevor Harry of Groton Junior Jam Minors Drag finals while the Majors winner was Madison Kleewein of North Platte, Nebraska.  And Becki Fuchs of Bowman, North Dakota was the winner of the Junior Gamblers race on Saturday.  Sunday’s races featured the 5th Coca Cola Points Series races.  Rick Meier of Box Elder won the Super Pro Division while the Pro Division winner was Dustin Sullivan of Mitchell.  Chris Boom did win Sunday’s Bike Series final and Ron Winterberg of Timber Lake was the winner of  Street Trophy Class Race.  In the Sportsman Class, Ashley Holm of Pierre won the finals while Austin Mohr of Mitchell won the High School Class.  In the two Junior Jam races on Sunday, Kimberlee Guether of Ft. Pierre was the winner of the Major finals while the Minor finals was won by Jake Miller of Ft. Pierre.  Races continue with a race card in two weekends at Oahe Speedway, located 14 miles north of Pierre along Highway 1804.
