New Judge Named to Fourth Circuit in South Dakota

DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) – A new judge has been appointed to the Fourth Judicial Circuit in South Dakota.

The South Dakota Supreme Court has approved the appointment of Eric Strawn as a part-time magistrate judge for the Fourth Circuit.

The Fourth Circuit covers the counties of Butte, Dewey, Harding, Lawrence, Meade, Perkins and Ziebach. The position will be shared with the Seventh Judicial Circuit.

Strawn will be sworn in on Aug. 27. He is a graduate of Black Hills State University and the University of South Dakota. He has served as a law clerk for the Fourth Judicial Circuit and has been in private practice in Spearfish.
