South Wins Boys and North Takes Girls All Star Basketball Games

ABERDEEN, S.D. -  The North all-stars outscored the South Squad 19-10 in the third quarter to rally to a 62-57 victory in the South Dakota High School Coaches Association girls’ basketball All-Star Game, July 16 in Aberdeen.  Chynna Stevens of Clark-Willow Lake scored 17 points to lead the North squad. Sami Knecht of Aberdeen Central posted eight points and nine rebounds.  Mitchell’s Kristen Sabers led the South squad with 14 points.

From a dunk on its opening possession to a barrage of three-point field goals, the South racked up a record number of points on the way to a 125-83 victory over the North during the South Dakota All-Star boys’ basketball game at Wachs Arena Tuesday night.  The South shot a blistering 65 percent from the field, including 58 percent from three-point range.  Alex Robertson of Canistota scored 22 points to lead the South squad.  Watertown’s Tanner Heiser led the North with 19.  Latrell LaRouche of Lower Brule added 11.
