PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Pierre man was among two people who were killed in a pedestrian-vehicle crash in Charles Mix County yesterday.  The Department of Public Safety says the incident was reported last night about 8:45 p.m. near U.S. Highway 18 and SD Highway 46 near Pickstown.  Authorities say that 28-year-old Ronald Ray Fischer, Jr. of Lake Andes was driving a minivan on Highway 18, when the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 46.  The van traveled into a nearby private parking lot where it hit two pedestrians and two parked vehicles.  The pedestrians; 46-year-old Robert Allan Klumb of Pierre and 25-year-old Maegen E. Spindler of Cazenovia, New York were killed in the crash.  Fischer was taken to a hospital in Wagner and authorities say he has since been transported to a Sioux Falls hospital.  The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
