PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A two vehicle accident Saturday resulted in injuries to the motorists involved. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 1804 and 192nd Street in Sully County. A vehicle driven by a Colorado man, William Pate was southbound on 1804 when the Highway Patrol says it collided with a vehicle driven by Larry Steffen of Pierre. DPS says the Steffen vehicle exited a private drive to cross the highway and struck the passenger side of the Pate vehicle. Both motorists were transported to the hospital by family. Pate received minor injuries and DPS classifies Steffen’s injuries as serious, but non-life threatening. Agencies responding to the accident site were the Sully County Sheriff’s Office, the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office, the Onida Ambulance and South Dakota Highway Patrol.
