SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – In a birdie-filled Dakota Dunes Open presented by SaskTel, Rapid City native Wil Collins prevailed for his first PGA Tour Canada victory after going on a big run in Sunday’s fourth round. Collins shot 6-under-par 66 to win the event by a shot with a 21-under 267 total. He began the day four shots off the lead in a tie for third and was 1-over for the round. Canadians Ryan Yip (66) and Taylor (71), and Ellis (67), an American, tied for second at 20-under 268. The 34 year old Collins is a two-time U.S. Open qualifier, including the 2013 event on June 13-16 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa. The Rapid City Stevens graduate won three South Dakota Class A state high school titles – 1993, 94, 96 – and was runner-up in 1995. Collins is also a five-time SDGA champion.
