PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A new event at the Museum of the South Dakota State Historical Society at Pierre’s Cultural Heritage Center will offer a special video program from one of the Smithsonian Museums each month. Starting Sunday, July 14, the first Smithsonian Sunday program will be held and will feature a video program from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. There will be no fee for the program, but regular admission will be charged for those wanting to visit the museum. Jay Smith, director of the museum, says in a release that they are excited to get the program going. The South Dakota State Historical Society became a Smithsonian Affiliate in January. Future Smithsonian Sunday programs are scheduled on the second Sunday of each month from August through December.
